The sustainability of food systems does not depend solely on agricultural productivity. It relies above all on the quality of interactions between actors in the sector: producers, professional organizations, public institutions, the private sector, and technical partners. As part of the PRECASI project, led by CARE International, the CRIHD acted as a research body to support the mapping of stakeholders and the analysis of dynamics within three key agricultural sectors. The objective was clear: to understand the roles, complementarities, but also the areas of friction that limit the effectiveness of interventions and the scaling up of existing initiatives. The study highlights a recurring reality: Côte d'Ivoire's agricultural sectors are full of relevant initiatives, but these often remain fragmented and poorly coordinated. Better structuring of value chains, supported by a systemic understanding of the actors involved, appears to be a major lever for strengthening food security, improving agricultural incomes, and increasing resilience to economic and climate shocks. The results of the initial PRECASI study thus provide partners with a strategic decision-making tool, enabling them to direct investments towards more coherent, inclusive, and sustainable approaches, while maximizing the impact of the resources mobilized.
